Consumers are paying for puppies they never actually receive.

Who Is It Targeting: Online pet seekers

What Is It:  Scammers are posting fake pictures, pulled from other websites, and selling  puppies online for very cheap. The victim pays for the puppy via wire transfer and never receives the puppy.

What Are They After: Wire transfers, Money

How Can You Avoid It:

  • Make sure a company is reputable by searching reviews online before making a purchase
  • Ask for references of a breeder
  • Report a scam on the BBB’s scam tracker: https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/us/
