Give Back this #GivingTuesday

With the Thanksgiving holiday behind us and the packages from Black Friday and Cyber Monday safely tucked far away from recipients’ prying eyes, there’s one more holiday left to celebrate: #GivingTuesday.

After the recent emphasis on gratitude for all that we have, #GivingTuesday was designed as a focused day to help charities reach out to generous donors for much needed support. This year, the Identity Theft Resource Center is proud to be a part of #GivingTuesday, and is even more proud of its designation from the organization as a non-profit of worth.

The ITRC, listed as one of GuideStar’s Gold participants, works throughout the year to help victims of identity theft through its 24-hour toll-free call center, as well as assisting law enforcement officials and policymakers with clear data on identity theft. It’s this type of partnership that lets lawmakers be ready to assist victims of this type of crime, whenever and however it may strike.

The Better Business Bureau has long been an integral part of helping generous consumers feel confident in their charitable giving by highlighting the organizations that maintain transparency in their funding and spending, file their appropriate documentation with the IRS, and keep their profiles up-to-date. The BBB’s efforts were recently covered by national media for their #GivingTuesday celebration, and the positive impact that can occur when individuals know their funds are going to the right causes. The ITRC is proud to be a BBB accredited charity.  This means we have undergone review by the BBB and have met all 20 of the BBB Standards for Charity Accountability.

This year, for #GivingTuesday, the ITRC would love to have your support in order to continue its mission of helping the millions of victims of data breaches and identity theft. With your support, they can continue to help citizens climb out of the chaos and reclaim some measure of control over their identities. To donate to our organization please visit our Guidestar profile.  Thank you for your continued support of our mission!
