Steve Bellio, CISSP, PMP

Steve Bellio, Network Security Manager for a large telecom company for over 29 years, has spent the bulk of his career in the IT, network and security fields.

After conducting a great deal of research to arm himself with the knowledge necessary to address the different types of identity theft and the best methods for mitigating the risk, he took the next logical step to bring this information to the community at large.
He combined his new knowledge with his writing and speaking skills, and began reaching out to others in an effort to help friends, neighbors, co-workers and community groups to reduce the chance that they may one day become victims of this terrible crime. Steve has published identity theft papers (internal company use only), conducted ID theft training, lectured on the topic of combating identity theft (including multiple talks at the most recent Southeast CyberCrime Summit) and has appeared on the Internet Security News Network in a series of interviews and as a guest speaker.

Steve enjoys public speaking and is excited about working with the ITRC to help the good folks of Atlanta and the state of Georgia become more knowledgeable and savvy regarding identity theft Steve believes an educated and aware public is more capable of fighting this crime and reversing the trends of the past decade.

Steve has been a member of local Toastmasters chapters for the past five years and has held officer roles in both clubs. He is a PMP and a member of the PMI Atlanta chapter, as well as a member of the Atlanta chapter of InfraGard. He's been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in good standing since January of '04.
