A Special Opportunity for ITRC Victims
Provided by Debix Identity Protection Network

Because Debix believes in the work that the ITRC does, it would like to assist our victims even further.   Debix understands your time constraints and the angst you have suffered.   They would like the chance to help make your recovery a little easier.   Their program is based on the idea that if you can stop criminals from opening fraudulent accounts, you will have less work cleaning up the mess left by imposters.

All ITRC victims are being offered the following opportunity – at no charge for the first 12 months after enrollment:

  • Debix will renew your 90 day fraud alert for a period of one year.   As you know, fraud alerts only last 90 days and you must call in to each bureau to renew them.   Debix will take over that chore for you, saving your time and making sure the consumer statement remains on your credit report for one year.
  • With Debix services, Creditors are required to call you through the secure Debix network to get your approval before opening any new accounts.  The Debix system will place the creditor on hold and contact you immediately for approval.   If you are not available, they will continue to call until they reach you.   You can then accept or reject the application for credit directly with Debix.   Credit issuers only try once, at best, to reach a consumer, and may accept or reject the application without any contact with the user after that attempt.   The Debix program is significantly better and should improve the effectiveness a fraud alert was meant to provide.
  • A Debix assigned phone number is placed in the consumer statement, therefore the creditor will contact Debix, and not be contacting you directly.   Your phone number will not be published.

Please note: This process will only help with financial identity theft.   However, this type of crime is currently the most prevalent kind of identity theft.    ITRC believes that the Debix program will be far more proactive than any credit monitoring service available today.   This program gives you time to react before an account is set up, rather than having to clean up the mess after an account has already been established.

To sign up and read more about this program go to www.debix.com/itrc .

At no time during the first 12 months will Debix contact you to sell you any services or upgrades.   At the end of the 12 months, you will be asked if you wish to continue the service.  You may decide to stop at any time and no pressure will placed on you to continue.
