Accessibility Initiatives & Partners

The individuals within the Blind & Deaf community face unique challenges when it comes to the process of remediating their identity crime case. As the national leader on identity crime, the ITRC is working with our partner focus groups in order to provide tailored remediation advice and identify, as well as, address accessibility issues.

  • Through the support of the Department of Justice, the ITRC is making accessibility a priority by working with these focus groups for feedback on navigating identity theft remediation processes.

  • The ITRC has implemented new technologies to assist these populations including Interactive Voice Recorder and ADA website compliance.

  • ITRC staff has received training directly from the community support groups so they can provide culturally competent and linguistically appropriate services to best support this community.
