A lot of major retailers have different ways that they give back. It might be through scholarship programs, work from home opportunities for disabled veterans, or literally hundreds of other ways. One household name retailer has decided to focus on helping you help others.

Amazon Smile is a way to give back to worthy causes all year long, even without having to be mindful of it. It’s the same website as Amazon and the prices are exactly the same, but it lets the retailer filter your purchases towards your designated charity.  It costs the consumer nothing, and Amazon makes the donation while knowing its satisfied customers are more likely to come back to the site in order to use their spending power for good.

The Identity Theft Resource Center, as a 501 (C) 3 non-profit, is a proud and grateful Amazon Smile recipient. The support from Amazon customers has allowed us to continue the important work of serving as a resource to victims, law enforcement, and policymakers alike, as well as providing free assistance when someone discovers their identity has been compromised.

Set up your Amazon Smile with these steps:

1. Go to Smile.Amazon.com and log in with your same Amazon username and password

2. Choose Identity Theft Resource Center as the organization you would like to support.

3. That’s it! For every qualified purchase, Amazon will send .05% of your purchase price to the organization you chose.

4. Bookmark the site on your browser so you know can donate every time you shop on Amazon.

Of course, this is just one of many ways you can support the work of different causes, and it’s not a substitute for donating to an organization that you care deeply about. It’s just a great daily habit that helps ensure we can all work for the good of others. The ITRC is grateful for the support provided through donations to help us pursue our mission and expand our resources.
