Donate Cryptocurrency to the Identity Theft Resource Center

Making a cryptocurrency donation to support the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) empowers our mission to stop identity crime, support victims and strengthen digital trust.

Your gift helps fund free, trauma-informed recovery services for individuals impacted by identity theft, scams and cybercrime while supporting the tools, education and policy change needed to build a safer digital future for everyone.

A gift worth $1,000 could fund personalized recovery assistance for five (5) individuals navigating identity theft, helping them rebuild financial stability and emotional confidence in the wake of a life-altering crime.

Support the ITRC by making a charitable gift in cryptocurrency. We accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum and over 100 additional leading cryptocurrencies.

Does the Identity Theft Resource Center accept cryptocurrency?

Crypto philanthropy is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing avenues for charitable giving. With more than 300 million global crypto users and the value of many tokens on the rise, the crypto community is uniquely positioned to make a meaningful, scalable impact.

The ITRC welcomes crypto donors as part of our movement to reform how we protect identity in the digital age. Your crypto donation funds both urgent victim recovery and long-term systemic change.

It’s also one of the most tax-efficient ways to give.

How can I donate cryptocurrency to the ITRC?

Are crypto donations tax-deductible?

Yes! Cryptocurrency donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by U.S. law.

When you donate appreciated crypto directly to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit like the ITRC, you may avoid paying capital gains tax and receive a deduction for the fair market value of the asset, making it one of the most tax-smart ways to support causes that matter to you.

We recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor to understand your specific benefits.
