Alliance for Identity Resilience (AIR) Advisory Board

The Alliance for Identity Resilience (AIR) was established as an advisory board by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC). The advisory board operates within the framework of the ITRC’s mission to empower individuals and businesses through education, support, and innovative strategies. The primary purpose of AIR is to advise the ITRC on matters related to identity crime. The board serves as a consultative body to foster collaborative discussions, advance thought leadership and advocacy, identify emerging challenges, offer guidance on projects and initiatives, facilitate industry collaboration, and propose holistic solutions to enhance identity protection and victim recovery services.

SHAWN HOLTZCLAW is an experienced global executive and consultant with proven success in leading companies through strategic transformation and stages of growth from start-up to $500M+ across multiple industries. Shawn has a highly diverse background with accounting and commercial law degrees and multiple P&L ownership roles in the U.S. and internationally with private and public companies.  Shawn has a particular interest and expertise in global data issues and data’s impact on commerce and people.

Jay Meier
Vice Chair

JAY MEIER is the Chief Identity Technology Strategist at FaceTec, Inc. and President & CEO of Sage Capital Advisors, LLC. From 2007 until 2015, Jay served in various executive capacities in biometrics and contactless smartcards. Prior, he served as a Senior Securities Research Analyst in investment banking. Jay earned a BS-Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. He currently holds several securities industry licenses, including the Series 7/63-General Securities Sales, Series 65-Investment Advisor, Series 86/87-Securities Analyst.

Kris Bossowski

KRZYSZTOF “KRIS” BOSSOWSKI is a federal agent with a U.S. Government law enforcement agency and has 20+ years of experience in executive protection, cybersecurity, criminal cyber investigations and cyber policy. Kris successfully led executive protection details for the President of the United States, senior U.S. officials and foreign heads of states visiting USA. He has effectively investigated and arrested leaders of multiple transnational organized crime groups committing mortgage fraud, credit card fraud and identity theft. He started his career as an IT professional working for Microsoft, Washington Mutual bank’s ecommerce section and multiple technology start-up companies. Kris holds a BS in Computer Science from University of Washington, an MBA and a MS in Computer Science degrees from City University of Seattle.

Kerry Cantley

KERRY CANTLEY is the Vice President of Digital Banking Strategy at Mitek. She has a distinguished 30-year career in the financial services industry. Before joining Mitek, Cantley was Senior Vice President, Global Technology and Operations at Bank of America. She held multiple executive leadership roles at Bank of America, including leading large operations supporting consumer and commercial banking, as well as leading the Strategy and Initiative Planning and Execution organization. Cantley is a well-known innovator and inventor in banking, with more than 80 filed patents related to image processes and bank operations. She is six sigma black belt certified as well as a Certified Financial Crime Investigator. 

Payam Hojjat

PAYAM HOJJAT is the Cybersecurity Risk & Governance Chief for the State of California and a Cybersecurity Professor at California State University. Hojjat is an accomplished leader and consultant in Security, Governance, Risk Management, Compliance (GRC), Privacy, Incident Response, and Cyber Operations, with over 13 years of driving strategic information security programs and initiatives to success and maturity for the State of California. Hojjat is a dedicated professor of cyber, investor, evangelist, and a passionate advocate for the ethical use of technology. Hojjat is driven by career challenges and seeks discomfort.

 

Meghan Land

MEGHAN LAND is the Executive Director of Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC). Meghan joined PRC in 2011 and served as Associate Director and Policy Counsel until becoming the Executive Director in 2018. She is a data privacy law and policy expert passionate about advancing consumers’ rights and awareness of available choices. Meghan is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and the University of Georgia, where she received a B.A. in Journalism and French. She is a member of the State Bar of California and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).   

Adam Levin

ADAM LEVIN is a consumer affairs advocate and serial entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience. He is a nationally recognized expert on cybersecurity, privacy, identity theft, fraud, and personal finance. At age 27, Levin became the youngest Director in the history of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. As Chairman and founder of CyberScout, Levin built a premier global identity, data protection company, and helped pioneer the cyber insurance business. Levin was also co-founder of Credit.com, one of the first credit education, information and products and services companies on the Internet focused on consumer credit building. Levin has testified before state and federal regulators as well as legislative committees on his areas of expertise. He is the host of the award-winning weekly cybercrime podcast What the Hack. Levin is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Michigan School of Law.

AARON MENDES is an experienced cybersecurity professional and the CEO and Co-Founder of PrivacyHawk, a personal data protection service that helps protect consumers’ personal data from scams, fraud, identity theft and spam. Aaron has a 20+ year history of building technology companies, both consumer and enterprise, with a specialty in big data, software and AI. Aaron is also a venture investor in 40 technology companies spanning biotech, software, clean energy, fintech, healthcare, industrial materials and robotics. He’s also a Forbes writer covering cybersecurity and privacy for consumers and enterprises.  

Lynette Owens

LYNETTE OWENS is Vice President of Global Consumer Education and Product Marketing at Trend Micro. She has rallied a global team of volunteers to help reach almost four million people through the company’s consumer education programs and is a frequent public speaker on matters related to technology and its impact on youth, older adults, and everyone in between. Lynette holds a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A from the University of California at Berkeley and is a board member of the National Association of Media Literacy Education, serves on the advisory boards of the Identity Theft Resource Center and INHOPE, and is a committee member of Trend Micro’s DEI initiatives. 

Lisa Plaggemier

LISA PLAGGEMIER is Executive Director at the National Cybersecurity Alliance. She is on a mission to empower people and organizations to stay safe online, so that everyone can experience the benefits of technology without worry. Lisa started her career in marketing with Ford Motor Company before migrating to automotive technology and eventually security.  Lisa is honored to serve on the US Secret Service Cyber Investigations Advisory Board. She is a University of Michigan graduate (Go Blue!) and while she wasn’t born in Austin, Texas, she got there as fast as she could.
