Alliance for Identity Resilience (AIR) Advisory Board

The Alliance for Identity Resilience (AIR) was established as an advisory board by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC). The advisory board operates within the framework of the ITRC’s mission to empower individuals and businesses through education, support, and innovative strategies. The primary purpose of AIR is to advise the ITRC on matters related to identity crime. The board serves as a consultative body to foster collaborative discussions, advance thought leadership and advocacy, identify emerging challenges, offer guidance on projects and initiatives, facilitate industry collaboration, and propose holistic solutions to enhance identity protection and victim recovery services.

Shawn Holtzclaw
Advisory Board Chair

SHAWN HOLTZCLAW is an experienced global executive and consultant with proven success in leading companies through strategic transformation and stages of growth from start-up to $500M+ across multiple industries. Shawn has a highly diverse background with accounting and commercial law degrees and multiple P&L ownership roles in the U.S. and internationally with private and public companies.  Shawn has a particular interest and expertise in global data issues and data’s impact on commerce and people.

Jay Meier
Biometric Cohort Chair

JAY MEIER currently serves as Senior Vice President of North American Operations at FaceTec, Inc. and as President & CEO of Sage Capital Advisors, LLC. From 2007 until 2015, Jay served in various executive capacities in biometrics and contactless smartcards. Prior, he served as a Senior Securities Research Analyst in investment banking. Jay earned a BS-Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. He currently holds several securities industry licenses, including the Series 7/63-General Securities Sales, Series 65-Investment Advisor, Series 86/87-Securities Analyst.

Lynette Owens
Advisor

LYNETTE OWENS is Vice President of Global Consumer Education and Product Marketing at Trend Micro. She has rallied a global team of volunteers to help reach almost four million people through the company’s consumer education programs and is a frequent public speaker on matters related to technology and its impact on youth, older adults, and everyone in between. Lynette holds a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A from the University of California at Berkeley and is a board member of the National Association of Media Literacy Education, serves on the advisory boards of the Identity Theft Resource Center and INHOPE, and is a committee member of Trend Micro’s DEI initiatives. 

Meghan Land
Advisor

MEGHAN LAND is the Executive Director of Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC). Meghan joined PRC in 2011 and served as Associate Director and Policy Counsel until becoming the Executive Director in 2018. She is a data privacy law and policy expert passionate about advancing consumers’ rights and awareness of available choices. Meghan is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and the University of Georgia, where she received a B.A. in Journalism and French. She is a member of the State Bar of California and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).   

Michael Scheumack
Advisor

MICHAEL SCHEUMACK is the Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at IDIQ®. Scheumack’s career took root in the U.S. Coast Guard, an experience that not only honed his leadership skills but also marked the start of his journey in technology, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship. He transitioned from his military service into a career in the civilian sector. At IDIQ, Scheumack spearheads initiatives in both performance and traditional marketing, blending analytical thinking with creative strategy to drive the company forward. His influence extends beyond marketing as he brings his continuous innovation to all parts of IDIQ to help ensure the company remains the leader in financial and identity protection.  

Stephen Smith
Advisor

STEVE SMITH is the Senior Vice President of Business and Strategy at Intellectual Technology (ITI), a motor vehicle and driver services provider supporting 35 States and Provinces across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to ITI, Steve served in various identity-related roles on the Capital One digital identity and payments team and at ID.me. Steve has several more years of professional experience in public service with the Department of Veterans Affairs, USAID, and the U.S. Army as an infantry officer during the 2000s. He received a BA from the University of Florida and an MBA and MA from George Washington University.
